PEABODY — A Peabody woman was arrested and charged Tuesday morning for cocaine and Klonopin possession with intent to distribute within a school zone, Peabody police said.
Christine Zak, 32, of 18 Cashman Road, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B (cocaine) drug, possession with intent to distribute a Class C (Klonopin) drug, three counts of a drug violation within a school zone and three counts of drug violation near a school park at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Several anonymous tips were received about suspected drug activity in the area of South Memorial Elementary School. The arrest was the result of a month-long investigation, Peabody police said.
Community networking with members of the city, while involving multiple divisions within the Peabody Police Department, was credited for the arrest, Peabody police said.
