LYNN — James Toomey of Lynn is the sixth $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Winfall” instant ticket game, the Lottery confirmed on Friday.
Toomey chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before tax withholdings). He is sharing his winnings with his sister and will be putting his portion into savings.
Lottery spokesman Christian Teja did not know when Toomey bought his winning ticket. Attempts to reach Toomey Friday were unsuccessful.
Toomey purchased the winning ticket at Richdale Convenience, 573 Chestnut St. in Lynn. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
There are four $4 million prizes and nine additional $1 million prizes still available in the “$4,000,000 Winfall” $10 instant game.
