The Lynn Jets continued their hot streak with a 1-0 victory over the Fishermen at home on Wednesday.
Lynn coach Joe Conlon had high praise for his team’s effort.
“The team made big saves, and big stops to help with momentum, which eventually led to the only goal of the game,” said Conlon.
Jets goalie Jack Stafford recorded his fifth shutout in eight games, and Brandon Devin scored the lone goal of the contest.
Peabody 4, Beverly 0
It was a one-goal game heading into the third, but Beverly could not match the intensity of Peabody in the last period.
For Peabody, the top performers were junior Chris Dillon, who scored two goals with two assists, and senior Owen Brewster who scored two goals with one assist.
Beverly coach Justin Shairs said Hunter Spencer and Tim McCarthy, forwards on the first line, played well for the Panthers, and Sean Hanlon was the team’s top defensive performer.
St. Mary’s 2, Arlington Catholic 0
In a tight game throughout, the Spartans edged the Cougars to improve to 10-1. In what proved to be a great matchup, Spartans coach Mark Lee said “this was a huge league game for our team, and is a big win for us going forward.”
Some top performers for the Spartans were Marc Zampanti, who scored a goal with assists from Eric Pedro and Dante Maribito. At the start of the second, when the Spartans were short-handed, Pedro scored to put the game away.
Andrew LoRusso had 25 saves in the game, his third shutout of the season.
Swampscott 4, Rockport 1
Steve Santaniello scored two goals for the Big Blue, while Louis Olivieri and Mike Johnson each added two assists on the night. Swampscott outshot Rockport 41-11 in a dominant performance. Freshman goalie Victor Kratik got the win in his first career start.
Revere 5, Salem 2
With one of their leaders out for two games, Revere needed all their players to step up.
“We knew we needed to play hard and we did by grinding it out, chipping pucks down low and playing tough, because Salem is a hard-working team,” said Revere coach Joe Ciccarello.
The Patriots’ top performer was senior captain Joe Ristino, who scored the last three goals of the game.
North Reading 7, Lynnfield 1
The Hornets had all phases of the game going in a dominant win over the Pioneers.
