NEC basketball All-Stars named

Alex Sanchez was named the Player of the Year in the NEC.

Alex Sanchez and Tom Doyle of the South champion Salem High School boys’ basketball team were named Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively, when the Northeastern Conference coaches met last week to pick their annual All-Star team.

For the girls, Valentina Pepic of Revere was picked as the Player of the Year, while Swampscott’s Katelyn Leonard was Coach of the Year.

The boys’ all-conference team is as follows: Ricky Arias, guard; and Jhonel Roberts, forward, Salem; Devonn Allen, guard; and Rashad Francois, guard, Danvers; and Sam Traicoff, guard, Beverly.

The North All-Stars are: Danvers: Mike Nestor, Tre Crittendon, Tahg Coakley; Classical: Erick Solis, Jakeel Brown; Peabody: Junior Estrella, Moisse Irizarry; English: Iverson Lopes, Javaris Hill; Beverly: Kyle Coughlin, Ryan Garrity; Revere: Marvin Urdaneta.

The South all-stars:

Salem: Joel Nunez, Kelvin Perpetuo, Michael Kazadi; Gloucester: John Philpott, Evan Mason; Saugus: Kyle Autilio, Dan Bertrand; Marblehead: Ted Bostley, Patrick Bugler; Swampscott: Nick Scibelli; Winthrop: Devin Pulsifer.

Salem received the sportsmanship award.

The NEC girls’ all-conference team is: Meghan Hartmann, guard, Swampscott; Pamela Gonzalez, guard, Revere; Chenysse Hill, guard; and Paris Wilkey, forward, Classical; Melissa Lubas, guard, Beverly.

The girls’ North team: Revere: Adanna Hector, Maritza Scott, Ally Hinojosa; Beverly: Natalie Mellinger, Jess Cross; Danvers: Devan Walsh, Hannah Llewellyn; Peabody: Sara Hosman; Classical: Soneta Srey; English: Mashayla Johnson.

South: Salem: Brianna Rodriquez, Chanelle Camah; Swampscott: Faye Parker, Jaymie Caponigro, Hannah Leahy; Marblehead: Colby Shea, Lindsay Walker; Saugus: Mikayla Niles, Olivia Valente; Winthrop: Nina Bartlette.

Gloucester won the sportsmanship award.
