John H. Cormack

NAPLES, Fla. — John H. Cormack of Falmouth and Naples, Fla., passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in Naples, Fla., surrounded by his loving family.

John leaves his beloved wife, Beverly (Ebinger-McAteer) Cormack and children, Lori Ann (Jeff) Freidman, Douglas (Christine) Cormack, Michael (Henny) Cormack, Marie (Brian) O’Donnell, James Brian (Jessica) McAteer, Ellen (Van) Virture and Gary (Lorri) McAteer; grandchildren, Douglas (Crystal) Cormack Jr., David Freidman, George Cormack, Kylie Cormack, Anna O’Donnell, Austin Virtue, Tyler Virtue, Kaleen Virtue, Ryan McAteer, Michael McAteer, Dylan McAteer, Connor McAteer and Paige McAteer, and one great granddaughter, Jordyn; sister, Ruth (Richard) Crevier; brother, Thomas Dowling; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Cormack.

John was born in Saugus, the son of Grace (Salkins) and John K. Cormack. He attended Lynn public schools, worked at MIT, he received a B.S. degree from Northeastern University in electrical engineering and an MBA from Suffolk University.

John had an entrepreneurial spirit and was the founder of two high-tech companies, businesses and several retail/service/entertainment and real estate enterprises.

John aspired to be the best he could be in all endeavors.  He was a sweet, loving, kind and generous man and was a voracious reader. He was above all a happy, fun-loving man with a positive outlook on life and a generosity of spirit to all whose lives he touched.

Service information: A celebration of John’s life will take place on Friday, May 20 at 12 noon at Second Church of Plymouth, 518 State Road, Manomet, MA 02345. Inurnment with military honors will be in Massachusetts Military Cemetery in Bourne at 2:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105.  For online condolences, please visit Fullernaples.com.
