PEABODY — Christine Hebert was arraigned in Peabody District Court Tuesday on charges relating to a disturbance caused prior to a house fire at a Lynnfield home over the weekend.
Hebert, 49, of Peabody, is charged with assault and battery, threats and malicious destruction of property after an assault with her boyfriend.
Police responded to 844 Main St. in Lynnfield Friday night for an unwanted person. They arrived to hear shouting with Hebert threatening to kill the victim amid a physical struggle between the two. Hebert also slashed the victim’s tires, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s office.
Following her arrest, a house fire was reported to the Lynnfield Fire Department early Saturday morning. The State Fire Marshal’s office has determined that the fire was set and is investigating. No arrests have been made in connection with the fire.
Hebert was held without bail, pending a dangerousness hearing set for June 3. She was detained on a prior probation violation and a plea of not guilty was entered for her.
