Winchester jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back, knocking out Marblehead boys lacrosse in the Division 2 North quarterfinals with a 13-5 win at Knowlton Stadium in Winchester on Friday.
The Sachems scored four times in the first three minutes, and that would prove to be too much for the Magicians to overcome. Sam Cioffi scored for Marblehead in the first, but Winchester held a 8-1 lead after a quarter.
Cioffi and Andrew McGurrin each scored twice, and Manning Sears added a goal. Goalie Neal Murray made several huge saves to keep the Magicians in the game, as Winchester dominated possession in all four quarters.
