The second day of the Lynn All-City Elementary School track meet took place at Manning Field Wednesday.
In the boys’ 50-meter dash, Ingalls’ Carlos Martinez led the pack (8.3 seconds), followed by his classmate, Angel Cabrera (8.5) and Cobbet’s Yeysson Chavez.
The 100 was won by Cobbet’s Joenel Aguero (14.3), who set a new record for the meet. Angel Valenzuela Castro (Cobbet, 15.4) and Albert Ramirez (Aborn, 15.8) finished right behind him.
Cobbet’s Yahir Figueroa (34.7) won the 200, followed by Cobbet’s Julius Figueroa and Ingalls’ Harim Ortiz. Cobbet’s Franklin Grullon won the 400 (1:19.7), breaking Jack Mancaniello’s previous meet record (1:21.6).
The record breaking continued in the 800, as Joenel Aguero shattered the previous record, held by Jaiden Sloden of Washington Elementary (3:30.8), running a 3:12.5. Jose Guevara of Ford (3:18.7) and Julius Figueroa (3:20.6) also bested the record, but finishing second and third, respectively.
In the mile, Angel Valenzuela Castro set a new meet record by almost a minute, toppling Ryan Dugan’s old record of 7:22.6 with a 6:27.1. Dario Gomez Mendez, of Ford, finished second (7:35.3), followed by Ingalls’ Daraviel Ramos (7:41.6).
In the girls’ 50, Cobbet swept the top three spots, with Adaisha Castillo (8.7), Doung Chan Chim (8.8) and Yareliz Coriano (9.1) leading the pack. Ailani Guerrero of Ingalls, Paola Mendez Martin of Ford, and Amber James of Fallon finished atop the 100 in a dead tie, all finishing in 17 seconds flat.
Aborn’s Khanyka Fialho (36.9) topped the pack in the 200, followed by Cobbet’s Melenie Gutierrez (38.3) and Aborn’s Amaya Sanabia (39.5).
Records fell in the girls 400, as Aborn’s Delaney Dana shattered Nevaeh Pizarro’s record of 1:35.4 with a 1:21.7. Ava Allaire (Aborn, 1:24.0) and Mariama Koroma (Cobbet, 1:26.0) finished in the top three as well.
Cobbet’s Luna Vicente Robles broke Jaivalize Soto’s record of 3:43.4 in the 800 (3:25.7), with Abigail Rodriguez (Ingalls, 3:28.7) and Emely Lopez Mendez (Ford, 3:31.2) rounding out the top three. Ford’s Natalie Mai won the mile (8:24.1), followed by Miriam Chavarin (Ingalls, 9:10.0) and Noemi Gaspar (Ingalls, 9:52.2).
In the field events, Aborn’s Jocelyn Chase won the long jump (6 feet, 4 inches), followed by Ford’s Rosetta Son (5-3) and Aborn’s Khanyka Fialho. Angel Valenzuela Castro and Ford’s Endui Noesi both broke the record in the boys long jump, tying at nine feet.
Aborn swept the top three spots in the girls softball throw, with Eliza Correnti (95-1), Delaney Dana (85-4) and Alexandra Chen (84-3) topping the competition. For the boys, Angel Valenzuela Castro won his fourth event of the day with a throw of 147-3, followed by Endui Noesi (122-7) and Fallon’s Ejindu Pius (117-6).
The Lynn Woods races ran again on Wednesday night, with 270 runners competing in the three races.
Nahant native Sean Osbahr took first place in the 1.59-mile kids race, finishing with a time of 13:16. He was followed by Michael Kelley (14:22), Trent Brown (15:07) Christopher Kelley (15:48) and Kevin Smart (17:23), all of Lynn.
Bailey Ferguson of Winthrop was the top female finisher (14:45), followed by Eleanor Joy of Salem (16:49), Chiamaka Unachukwu of Lynn (20:28), Caitlin Kelley of Lynn (20:41) and Lauryn Fahey of Swampscott (20:53).
In the 2.5-mile “Out-and-Back” race, Lynn’s Brandon Mendez Lopez finished first (16:03) with fellow Lynn native Colin Harvey (16:16) right behind. Chris Callanan (Marblehead, 1:26), Liam Crichton (Beverly, 17:38) and Finn Bonnet (Beverly, 17:46) finished in the top five.
Lynn’s Miki Divirgilio (18:26) led the women, followed by Brittani Atkinson (Peabody, 18:38), Andrea Saccardo (Peabody, 19:00), Abby Bent (Salem, 19:14) and Molly Mannion (Lynn, 20:06).
Lynn’s Matt Veiga (31:02) led the pack in the 5.3-mile long race, followed by Adam Cook (Melrose, 32:15), Chris Smith (Woburn, 33:12), William Jackson (Salem, 34:07) and Jim Pawlicki (Lynn, 34:29).
For the women, Deirdre Lowe (Salem, 38:33) paced the group, with Maura O’Day (Salem, 38:59), Lai-Sahn Hackett (Peabody, 42:33), Susan Collins (Rowley, 44:35) and Ashley Deacetis (Wakefield, 45:03) rounidng out the top five.
