LYNN — Christine O’Connell was arrested on Tuesday for an armed robbery charge stemming from an incident last month.
O’Connell, 32, of Lynn, was the second person arrested for the May 23 incident, where a 25-year-old Lynn man was robbed of $500.
On that date, the victim met with O’Connell, who had offered to show him an apartment for rent at 132 South Common St., a complex where she lives. O’Connell allegedly directed him to behind the apartment, where someone was waiting for him with a metal pipe in his hands, who demanded all of the victim’s money, Lynn Police Lt. Rick Donnelly said.
After the victim reported the incident, police conducted an investigation and identified the suspect as Jeffrey Barteaux, 36, of Lynn. Three days after the incident, the victim had flagged down officers on the Commons and pointed out Barteaux, who was walking down the street, as the man who had robbed him.
Officers approached the suspect, obtained his information and relayed the information to the detective handling the case. Barteaux was arrested and charged with armed robbery on June 2. When police arrested him, they observed O’Connell in the same 132 South Common St. apartment and relayed that information to detectives, Donnelly said.
