MARBLEHEAD — Residents decided Tuesday that they are willing to pay more taxes for a study to renovate the Elbridge Gerry School and a new fire pumper truck.
Voters were asked to exclude the items from Proposition 2 and a half, which places limits on the amount a community can raise through property taxes.
Residents overwhelmingly voted ‘yes’ to both questions — 2,176 people said ‘yes’ to the Gerry School feasibility study against 875 ‘no’ votes.
Funds were also approved for the fire pumper truck with 2,403 in favor and 628 against.
Voter turnout was 21.5 percent.
