PEABODY — A 54-year old Peabody man faces charges for allegedly threatening to kill police.
Bryan Dentremont was arrested on an outstanding warrant in his home at 158 Lowell St. on Monday, according to Detective Michael Crane.
The warrant was issued in connection with an incident that happened earlier in the day involving a city councilor who was trying to solve an ongoing parking issue, Crane said.
During the councilor’s attempts to resolve the matter, Dentremont is alleged to have made specific threats to “shoot police” if they intervened to assist in a resolution.
Police declined to name the councilor.
As a result of the investigation led by Captain Scott Wlasuk, a warrant was obtained at Peabody District Court.
Multiple officers assisted with the arrest. Dentremont was taken in without incident, according to Crane.
Dentremont is scheduled to be arraigned today in Peabody District Court.
