The Saugus boys basketball team won its second game in a row by defeating Lynn Tech, 71-46, on Wednesday at Saugus High. The Sachems received an outstanding performance from Haris Behremovic, who flashed his talents from beyond the arc, knocking down four three-pointers in the win. Behremovic scored 20 points while Demetri Filaretos logged a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ronnie Lusso, who missed three games with an illness, came off the bench and scored seven points for the Sachems.
“He (Lusso) made some really good decisions,” Sachems assistant coach Mark Bertrand said. “He missed three games but he came back strong and we’re happy about that. He’s back on track.”
The Sachems (4-7) will aim to make it three wins in a row on Thursday at Revere. “We’re playing good defense,” Bertrand said. “It starts on the defensive end and it shows in our last two scores. If we keep playing well on the defensive end, good things will happen for us.”
For Tech, David Davis had a “monster game,” according to coach Stevie Patrick, scoring 11 points and pulling down 15 rebounds. Rob Wallace led the way with 13 points, and Trevon Baldwin added eight.
The Tigers will get ready for a big league matchup Friday against Essex Tech.
