A sign at Tower school in Marblehead was spray painted sometime over the weekend.
MARBLEHEAD — Police are looking for the person or persons responsible for vandalism at Tower School.
Parents, staff and students were greeted with an unwelcome surprise when they arrived at Tower School on West Shore Drive Friday morning. Sometime between 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and 7:30 a.m. the following day, school property was vandalized, Marblehead police said in a statement.
Two expensive signs and one vehicle were spray painted, which is considered malicious destruction of property and would be considered a felony, police said.
Police are asking for the public’s help, specifically from residents who may have been out and saw the signs and vehicle without the spray paint.
People should also notify police if they were in the area and heard or saw anything suspicious, including strange noises or people on foot, or in a car lingering, by calling the department at 781-631-1212 or reacting to their Facebook post regarding the incident.
