Lynn’s division of Global Embassy of Activists for Peace will hold a Blood Drive on Wednesday in the downtown.
“Our desire is to make a record amount of blood pints collected in Lynn in one day,” said Juan Gonzalez, regional coordinator, in a statement.
An invitation has been extended for residents to donate blood and be part of an act of solidarity, kindness and love for life.
Natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods, as well as car accidents and conflicts also generate substantial health care demands and the need for blood, according to World Health Organization, a global nonprofit whose mission is to work with governments and other partners to ensure the highest attainable level of health for all people.
“There is a constant need for blood donation,” said Gonzalez. “It’s true that we will never know when an accident can happen to us or a friend, a family member, a colleague. They could be in need of a blood transfusion at any time and that is why it is important for us to continue divulging this message, so that blood centers and banks are ready.”
Blood donations will start at 8:45 a.m. and run until 3 p.m. at 150 Market Street.
