Planning to watch the Lynn and Swampscott fireworks Monday night? Here are a few things you need to know to have a safe and frustration-free night.
The show starts at 9 p.m. and should wrap up by 10 p.m., but you’ll want to get there well ahead of time, especially if you plan to drive.
Lynn Police have announced the following restrictions.
Driving restrictions
Starting at 6:30 p.m., Lynn Shore Drive from Nahant Street to the Swampscott line is closed to traffic. That include all connecting streets. Drivers will be allowed back on the roads once the pedestrian crowds have been cleared after the show.
Parking restrictions
Parking is banned on the following roadways:
- Both sides of Lynn Shore Drive from 201 Lynn Shore Drive to Kings Beach Road (including Red Rock Park) from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Both sides of Prescott Road from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- The even-numbered side of Cherry Street from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Both sides of Humphrey Street in Swampscott from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
What’s banned from the event
Lynn and Swampscott police officers and Massachusetts State Police troopers will all be on hand for the event. The officers on hand will conduct random bag and container searches. There’s no alcohol allowed at the event, and you aren’t allowed to bring your own fireworks.
