Lynn Parks and Rec basketball results

The Lynn Parks and Recreation Summer Basketball series continued on Thursday evening at the outdoor courts of Lynn English High School, with six total games played across the three divisions.

In the Elementary School division, Pizza Lovers took down Lincoln Unity Development, 49-22. Nelson Obarisiagbon was the high scorer for Pizza Lovers, notching a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Darnel Kabongo and Jhoan Peralta each scored seven points in the win. For Lincoln Unity, Aneudy Blanco led the way with nine points, three rebounds and two assists, while Preston Kellman contributed six points and three rebounds.

The other Elementary Division game was between Buzzy Barton’s team and Mayor Kennedy’s team, a game that Mayor Kennedy’s team won 40-34. Warren Keel was the top scorer for Mayor Kennedy with 16 points, four rebounds and four steals, while Xavier Abreu added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. For Buzzy Barton, Rafael Zayas had 17 points, five rebounds and two steals to lead the way. Gabriel Diaz contributed seven points and five rebounds.

In the Middle School division, Dandreo Brothers got the win over Columbia Insurance, 59-51. Gabriel Perez had 15 points, six rebounds and three assists in the win, while Janyel Hernandez had eight points and seven rebounds and Kemder Santos had eight points. For Columbia Insurance, Juan Setalsingh led the way with 15 points, five rebounds and four steals and Ethan Danh had nine points, three rebounds and three assists.

In the second Middle School game, Tahj Purper’s 24 points and seven rebounds lifted Bruno’s Bar to a win over NS Heating Supply, 57-49. Kevin Clark added 10 points, five rebounds and two steals in the win. For NS Heating, Darion Anderson led the way with 18 points and three rebounds, while Jeury Barbosa had 12 points and four steals.

In the High School division, Lynn Housing Authority took down Leahy Landscaping, 66-61. Ivy Lopes was the top scorer for Lynn Housing with 16 points, two rebounds and three assists, while Samuel Adewale scored 13 points with three rebounds. Wallace Reed led Leahy with 15 points and four rebounds, while Abdoul Barry scored 14 points with three rebounds.

The other High School game was a close one between Solimine Funeral Home and ARC Wiping, with Solimine edging out a 73-71 win. Lynn Classical duo Erick Solis and Jaylen Johnson led the way for Solimine, with Solis notching a double-double (24 points, 13 rebounds) and Johnson just missing one (24 points, seven rebounds). Giovanni Cordero also got in on the double-double action, recording 22 points and 15 rebounds in the win. Jeffrey Barbosa was the top scorer for ARC with 32 points and five rebounds, while Angel Hernandez contributed 24 points and 16 rebounds.

The Lynn Parks and Rec Summer Basketball Series will continue on Monday and Tuesday at Breed Middle School with registration at 4:30 p.m. If it rains on Monday or Tuesday, the games will take place inside in the gym.
