Lynn will host free Summer Movie Nights beginning Friday, with three movies scheduled through August.
If the lineup doesn’t bring you and your family to the screenings, free popcorn might.
The movie nights are sponsored by Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy and a number of community organizations and businesses.
On July 14, Disney’s Moana will be played at Goldfish Pond park at 8:30 p.m. Moana is a 3D computer-animated musical fantasy-adventure film on a strong-willed daughter of a Polynesian tribe who was chosen by the ocean to save the people of her island.
With a 96 percent rating on the trusted measurement of quality entertainment, Rotten Tomatoes (rottentomatoes.com), the film received two Academy Award nominations at the 89th Academy Awards and raked in more than $642 million worldwide after it hit theaters in 2016.
As part of the water theme in Moana, families will be able to take boat rides that night on the Goldfish Pond.
On August 4, the 2016 3D computer-animated adventure buddy comedy film, Storks, will be shown at Gallagher Park at 8 p.m.
The film portrays how babies are delivered: by storks. When the company’s top delivery stork accidentally activates the baby making machine and produces a baby girl, an everyday Stork, Junior, and his friend Tulip, work to deliver the baby in a wild and revealing journey.
Storks came in with a 63 percent rating from Rotten Tomatoes.
Boston radio station Hot 96.9 will be at the event to play music, host a dance party, and have giveaways.
On August 25, the 2016 3D computer-animated comedy film produced by Illumination Entertainment, Sing, will be shown at Red Rock Park at 7:30 p.m.
Sing shines the spotlight on a group of anthropomorphic animals that fight it out in a singing competition hosted by a koala in hopes to save his theater.
Including more than 60 hits from famous artists, the cast features voices of Seth MacFarlane, Matthew McConaughey and Scarlett Johansson, among many more.
With a 73 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, critics said the storyline lives up to its title with “colorfully animated, cheerfully undemanding entertainment with a solid voice cast.”
