LYNN — For those who might be mourning the official end of Little League season in Lynn, take heart. There’s plenty more action on the small diamond before the summer ends.
The Lynn City Series begins on Saturday afternoon (3:30) when Pine Hill plays against West Lynn at Lynn Shore’s home field at Kiley Park.
Shore, which won the series last year, will host the entire tournament.
Following the Pine Hill-West Lynn game, Lynn Shore will face East Lynn in the nightcap.
Sunday at noon, the tournament will switch gears for the Lynn Home Run Derby, also to be held at Shore’s Kiley Park. Last year, Shore’s Aiven Cabral, a member of the City Series-winning team, won the derby with 21 homers, including 10 in the final round.
The games will resume Monday, July 24, with Wyoma facing the winner between Pine Hill and West Lynn.
The series follows the same format as the District 16 all-star tournament — double elimination with a winners and losers bracket.
