LYNN — It’s been a busy month for the Greater Lynn Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber recently welcomed three new members: North Shore Cryo, FirstLight Home Care Services and Broadway Family Dental. Ribbon-cutting ceremonies were held to welcome each business into the organization.
North Shore Cryo, 444 Humphrey St., Swampscott, offers clients a new age treatment to reduce swelling and increase healing of ailments and injuries.
Owners Marina and Alex Goldfarb say cryotherapy has been in existence for almost 40 years.
“Cryotherapy as we know it today dates back to Japan in 1978 when it was first utilized as a remedy for rheumatoid arthritis,” says Goldfarb. “It quickly gained popularity in Europe when European rugby and football teams started freezing themselves to decrease soreness, provide pain relief and promote faster recovery.
Cryotherapy has been used for relief from discomfort associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, tendinitis, muscle and ligament strains, and back and neck pain, as well as for alleviating symptoms of depression, anxiety, fatigue, insomnia, migraines and stress.
For more information call North Shore Cryo at 978-854-3473 or visit its website at www.NorthShoreCryo.com.
FirstLight Home Care Services, 168 Humphrey St., Swampscott, provides home care services to persons who are sick or aging but want to stay in their homes.
Owners Molly and Steve Rowe launched FirstLight Home Care after they experienced firsthand the struggle of trying to care for an elderly loved one.
FirstLight Home Care has established a client base throughout the North Shore. For more information about FirstLight Home Care, call 781-691-5755, email Steve Rowe at [email protected] or view the website at www.Salem.FirstLightHomeCare.com.
Dr. Peter Meaney and his staff of Broadway Family Dental, 291 Broadway, Lynn, recently joined the chamber.
Dr. Meaney, who has worked as an associate to Dr Joseph Wescott for several years, recently purchased the practice when Dr. Wescott moved to South Carolina.
Dr. Meaney has strong roots in the city: His father was a Lynn firefighter and his mother worked at GE for 30 years.
For more information, call 781-592-5919. New patients are welcome. Visit the website at www.broadwaydentistlynn.com.
Members of the chamber’s Women in Networking Committee also presented Jan Plourde, founder of The REAL Program, with a check for $300 to support their mission to improve literacy in Lynn. REAL stands for Reading and Educational Assistance for Learning. Proceeds were raised at a recent GLCC Women in Networking event.
The REAL Program has distributed more than 50,000 children’s books and 4,800 family meals locally.
Plourde, founder of the REAL program, was recently named one of 22 exceptional women of achievement at the YWCA of Lawrence’s Tribute to Women celebration.
