LYNN — Police are investigating whether two armed robberies that occurred on consecutive days are related.
Police responded to 100 Union St. shortly before 7 a.m. Monday after a masked man robbed Inner Convenience at knifepoint, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
The man brandished a knife and demanded money. The 22-year-old male clerk opened the cash register and the suspect took off with some of the cash, Kmiec said.
Police are looking into whether the suspect is the same masked man who brandished a knife and robbed Highland Variety at 96 Adams St. on Sunday morning. He took off with a small amount of money from the cash register.
A similar description was given for both suspects — possibly a white man wearing a mask. Police are reviewing surveillance video from both stores, and haven’t been able to confirm yet if it’s the same person, Kmiec said.
