The Lynn Summer Basketball Series continued on Thursday afternoon at Lynn English High School, with the finals of the East going down in the three divisions.
In the Elementary School division, Buzzy Barton just edged out John F. Kennedy, 45-43, to move on to the Summer Series final. Lionel Rivera was the top scorer for Buzzy Barton, dropping 12 points with eight rebounds and two assists. Warren Keel had 15 points, six rebounds and three assists on the losing side, while Xavier Abreu added eight points, seven rebounds and two assists.
The Middle School division game was equally close, with Bruno’s Bar beating Columbia Insurance, 45-42. Tahj Purter led the way with 18 points and one rebound, while Tyrese Garcia had 11 points and one assist for the losing side.
Behind a big 33-point, eight-rebound, seven steal performance from Angel Garcia, ERC Wiping defeated Solimine Funeral Home, 86-76, in the High School division final. Jeffrey Barbosa also had a big game for ERC Wiping with 22 points, eight rebounds, four steals and two assists. Calvin Seng led the way for Solimine Funeral Home with 18 points, six rebounds and eight assists, while Emajae Brown contributed 12 points and three rebounds.
