LYNN — Highland Variety was robbed at knife point twice last week.
A man entered the convenience store wearing a bandana and carrying a knife just before 6 a.m. on Friday, according to Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec. The perpetrator demanded money from the clerk and walked away with a small amount of cash. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
The suspect is believed to be connected to a July 23 robbery at the same Adams Street convenience store, Kmiec said. This has been the third robbery in just over a week targeting convenience stores in Lynn. Someone wielding a knife robbed Inner Convenience on Union Street shortly before 7 a.m. on July 24, Kmiec said.
On Friday, the Lynn Police Department posted a video still of the Inner Convenience robbery suspect picture to it Facebook page. Kmiec said the suspect could be the robber who hit the Highland Variety store, too.
The series of robberies and whether all three crimes are connected is still under investigation. Asked that anyone with information about the suspect or the robberies can reach detectives at 781-595-2000.
