Mildred C. Noren, 96

PEABODY — Mildred C. Noren, 96, of Peabody, formerly of Lynn, died Thursday, July 27, at the Kaplan Hospice House after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Paul Noren, with whom she shared 15 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Gustaf and Pauline (Salmonson) Bratt. She attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1939. She also attended Burdett Business College. Mildred was employed as a Senior Clerk for Massachusetts Electric, for many years until she retired in 1980.
She was a lifelong member of the First Luther Church, where she also sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Order of VASA, the Primetimes, the Greater Lynn Garden Club, and the Down the Gutter Bowling League. Mildred enjoyed gardening, bowling, and traveling. She spoke Swedish and traveled to Sweden, and many countries in Europe, and also enjoyed going to Bermuda.
She is survived by close friends Betty and Bob Emerson of Peabody, Susan and Dan Ritter, and several cousins.
Service information: Mildred’s funeral will be held at the PARKER Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Wednesday at 1 p.m. to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are prior to the funeral from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Please make donations in Mildred’s name to St. Jude’s Research Hospital for Children 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN, or the Benevolent Care Fund at Brooksby Village 200 Brooksby Village Drive, Peabody, Ma 01960.
