LYNN — People on Munroe Street saw about five minutes of action on Wednesday afternoon, when a 27-year-old man was quickly handcuffed and arrested by Lynn Police officers.
Witnesses looked on as a police cruiser pulled up and officers jumped out of the car, spotted Ermes Delcid, of Lynn, and handcuffed him on Munroe Street shortly after 2:30 p.m. He was then placed into the back of the cruiser.
Delcid was arrested on July 2015 warrant out of Boston for two counts of armed robbery, according to Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec.
Kmiec said an officer spotted Delcid on Union Street, realized he had a warrant and radioed another police car.
Two officers saw Delcid walking in the area of Washington and Munroe streets and placed him under arrest immediately because they confirmed that he had a warrant, Kmiec said.
Kmiec said the arrest was a result of good communication between officers, who observed Delcid and knew him, as he does have a history.
“Another good spot by officers,” Kmiec said. “It’s a serious felony warrant to get off the street as well.”
