August 8, 2017 by Gayla Cawley

LYNN — Police are investigating after a teenager was robbed while trying to sell his sneakers early Monday morning.

Police responded to the robbery at Lynnway and Shepard Street shortly before 1 a.m. A 17-year-old male had put out an advertisement on Snapchat to try to sell his sneakers, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.

At midnight, the teen went out to try to complete the sale with someone, and instead was robbed of not only his sneakers, but also his wallet and phone, Kmiec said.

Kmiec said the teenager got into a car in a dark area and wasn’t sure if there was more than one person inside the vehicle. He told police he was hit by something.
