LYNN — By now, drivers are used to the roundabout dispersing traffic in front of the new Market Basket supermarket. The new road configuration replaced the traffic lights and sea of asphalt at the intersection of Western Avenue, Market Square, and Federal and South streets.
Workers transformed the small, single-lane rotary from a pile of dirt to a garden island on Monday and Tuesday. The crew from Cameron’s Landscaping planted flowers, shrubs and ground cover at the intersection. The work is wrapping up as the nearby Market Basket prepares to open this Saturday.
