Complaints
A caller reported she had a strange odor coming from the inside of her fridge at 6:30 a.m. Saturday on Farrell Court. She spoke with the housing authority and they determined that it was a problem with the motor, and they have ordered a part. Her alarm system chirped and then stopped and she was concerned — she wanted the fire department to check it out. Police reported the fridge was unplugged until it could be repaired.
A report of a sailboat on the rocks at 3 p.m. Saturday at Massachusetts Bay. The harbormaster headed out to a sailboat that was aground on Tom Moore Rock, off of Castle Rock. The boat was reportedly high and dry on the rock. Tow Boat US Beverly was trying to get the crew off of the boat. All people were safely removed from the boat. A salvage company in coming on Monday.
A caller reported someone was cutting a lobster buoy rope out near Devereux and was bringing it into the beach at 6:12 p.m. Saturday on Ocean Avenue. She thought he might be stealing it. Police reported the man didn’t take the buoy —he saw it straggling in the water and wanted to turn it in.
