PEABODY — A 76-year-old man died after a retaining wall gave way and large rocks fell on top of him while he was doing yard work on Monday, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s office.
Police and first responders were on scene at 327 Lowell St. into the evening and were using equipment to remove the rocks, in order to recover the body. Police responded shortly before 4 p.m.
Authorities are calling the death accidental.
