A caller from the Coffin School on Turner Road reported at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday that they had been informed that a child was hit by a car at a crosswalk at the end of a school playground that afternoon. By the time the main office was told, everyone, including the child and driver of the vehicle were gone. The child’s mother reportedly stated that the child was banged up, but OK — she told police that her son was crossing the crosswalk and that he is OK, just shaken up.
A report of a basketball court on the street at 3:14 pm. Tuesday at Pilgrim Road and May Street. A caller was concerned that someone had painted a half basketball court on the street at the hairpin turn on Pilgrim and May. He felt that it was a dangerous situation and felt it was illegal to paint lines in the street. Police reported there were no kids in the area, but there were lines and markings in the road. The highway department was notified.
Theft
A report of a stolen skateboard at 2:56 p.m. Tuesday on Pond Street. A caller reported his skateboard was stolen off of his porch a couple of days ago. Police returned the skateboard to him.
