REVERE — A dead shark washed up on the Pines River on Friday, drawing a crowd to a quiet neighborhood nestled between a highway and the water.
The big fish, which washed up on the shore along Mills Avenue, became the center of attention for a small crowd of people, some looking to take pictures with the nearly five-foot-long shark, others plucking teeth from its fearsome grin.
Neighbors from the area recalled seeing the porbeagle shark swimming in the area throughout the week.
“It sends a strong message that no matter where you are you need to be very careful in the water,” Ward 5 Councilor John F. Powers said.
