Arrests
Jonathan E. Gerson, 32, of 273 Dubuque St., Manchester, N.H., was arrested on warrants at 10:54 a.m. Saturday.
Accidents
A report of a motor vehicle accident at 3 p.m. Friday on Tower Way. A fender bender from a town truck vs. an employee’s personal car was reported; at 7:13 p.m. Friday on Elm Street.
A caller reported at 3:23 p.m. Friday that she hit a child on a bicycle on Symonds Court. She stated there was no damage to her car, but the child was bleeding from his lip.
A report of a UPS truck vs. a hydrant at 11:16 a.m. Saturday on Pond Street. A UPS truck reported hitting a hydrant and was going to remain on scene. Water was not gushing out of the hydrant. Police reported the hydrant was out of service and was removed by the water department — it was replaced temporarily with an orange barrel and the hydrant will be restored on Tuesday.
Complaints
A woman reported she was accosted in the parking lot at 3:24 p.m. Friday on Pleasant Street.
A Phillips Street caller reported there were some illegal aliens in the neighborhood at 4:11 p.m. Friday. When the caller was asked why he thought that, he told police that they didn’t speak English. Police told him that they weren’t going to send anyone out unless a crime was being committed and that they weren’t doing anything wrong.
A report of a disturbance at 11:02 p.m. Friday on Ocean Avenue. A woman called to complain about a party — she said it was loud and wanted to go to sleep, adding that it was time to end the party. She had also called about 40 minutes earlier and was told that it was not unreasonable on a Friday evening at 10:20 p.m. for people to have a party, and to call back if it continued after 11 p.m. Police reported the music was turned down and the party was wrapping up for the night, with only about a dozen people still there. The woman called back and asked: “what is going on? I thought we had an agreement.” She stated that she could hear the music from her back door and wanted something done about it. Police spoke to the woman and told her that the party was wrapping up and she seemed satisfied, but stated that she would call back if it continued.
A report of a motor vehicle complaint at 8:20 a.m. Saturday at Smith and Pleasant streets. A caller reported that she saw in an article in a newspaper about a car speeding inbound through the intersection while they had a red light. The article stated that the driver ran the red light and was going 50 to 60 mph. The caller said the article also stated that the complainant felt that they would have been killed if they hadn’t hesitated. The caller stated that he had the same thing happen to him last week and he wanted to bolster the report.
A report of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the area at 10:38 a.m. Saturday on High Street. A caller reported that there were people going door to door soliciting. Police asked him if they were Jehovah’s Witnesses and the caller replied that he didn’t know but they were walking up to his door at that moment, and weren’t wearing any identification. Police told him that they didn’t need to check in or wear identification.
