Downed power line in Swampscott

ITEM STAFF REPORT

SWAMPSCOTT — A motor vehicle crash knocked down a power line at Essex Street and Danvers Road early Friday afternoon.

Essex Street was closed to traffic and vehicles were being detoured around the area as of 12:45 p.m, according to Swampscott police.

There was no word on when the street would reopen.
