LYNN — A Peabody man was arrested and charged Tuesday morning in connection with recent house and car break-ins.
John Caruso, 51, was charged with three counts of receiving stolen property, three counts of credit card fraud and on warrants for larceny charges and motor vehicle violations.
Detectives had been looking for Caruso in relation to recent burglaries. He had used a credit card that was reported stolen following a September break into a residence and car on Walnut Street, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
A detective spotted Caruso on Acorn Street shortly before 10 a.m., and when he was arrested, police found him in possession of two other stolen credit cards. The victims were contacted and confirmed that their car had been broken into earlier in the day. Those credit cards had also been used, Kmiec said.
Kmiec said the September incident and the car break-in on Tuesday are the two break-ins that police know about, but Caruso “most definitely could be responsible for more.”
