BOSTON — Michael DeLeon, the Lynn man convicted last week for the murder of a 35-year-old Revere woman, was sentenced to life in prison on Monday.
A Suffolk Superior Court jury last week found DeLeon, 38, guilty of second-degree murder, armed assault to murder, aggravated assault and battery and unlawful possession of a firearm in connection with the Dec. 10, 2015 shooting on Waite Street in Revere that left Cristy Johnson dead and injured a 38-year-old man, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.
DeLeon was acquitted of murder in the death of 66-year-old Peter Pitari, who was found fatally shot at the Waite Street apartment on the same day, prosecutors said.
Johnson, Pitari and the surviving victim were shot inside an apartment at 70 Waite St., according to prosecutors. The surviving victim was able to pull a fire alarm inside the building to alert Revere Police and other first responders.
Vicheth So, 38, the second man charged in connection with the shootings, faces trial at a later date.
