LYNN — Police believe a Broad Street house hit by gunfire on Saturday night was “targeted.”
Police responded to 47 Broad St. shortly before 9 p.m. on Saturday and found that a bullet went into the house. Officers recovered a spent shell casing outside the residence, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
Kmiec said it looks as if the two suspects, both men, were out front and knocked on the door. The resident, a 35-year-old man, thought a window of the home was broken, but when officers arrived on scene, it was determined there had been a shot fired through the window by suspects who fled, he said.
“The suspects knew what they were shooting at or who they were trying to shoot at,” Kmiec said. “This was a targeted residence … It doesn’t appear to be random. It obviously seems like there’s some knowledge of each other.”
The incident is under investigation.
