REVERE — A Revere man was arraigned this week for being an armed career criminal after Revere Police uncovered a firearm, a stun gun, and drugs at his home.
Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley said Nelson Aguilar, 23, was arraigned in Chelsea District Court Tuesday on charges of unlawful possession of an electric stun gun, possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance, and being a level two armed career criminal.
Aguilar entered a not guilty plea to the charges.
Revere Police executed a search warrant at Aguilar’s Marshall Street home Tuesday. Officers found a pile of money totaling $1,270 and a bag containing 46 Oxycodone pills on a desk in his bedroom. They also found a loaded .380 caliber semi-automatic firearm, additional ammunition, a stun gun, a cloth mask, more than ¾ of a pound of marijuana, 12 cell phones, two digital scales, and plastic baggies consistent with those used in drug distribution, according to a statement from Conley.
“These items, when viewed together, paint a clear picture of the violence that accompanies drug distribution,” he said.
Aguilar has prior convictions for assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery, according to prosecutors, who requested that bail be set at $50,000 and that his open bail be revoked in two cases pending in Chelsea District Court. The cases charge assault with a dangerous weapon, threats, and unlawful possession of ammunition.
Judge Jean Curran imposed $25,000 bail and revoked his open bail. He is represented by Anthony Fugate and will return to court Dec. 7.
