Item Santa: Mothers need a helping hand

December 7, 2017 by dkane

Every parent fights and works to give their children the lives they deserve. For some it is easier than others, and around the holidays the extra responsibility of Christmas gifts can be too much of a load for some families to bear alone.

There are a variety of reasons families around the North Shore need the help of Item Santa in order to give their children a happy Christmas filled with joy.

Two single mothers, who are currently college students, have found that in their mission to graduate and provide a better life for their children and themselves they cannot come up with the necessary funds to give their children a good holiday.

“I commute to school every week. My school is in Rhode Island and I am trying to get my degree to provide a better future for my son and I,” said one mother who is looking for assistance to buy gifts for her son.

Another full-time student and a single mother to one daughter writes for help.

“Any help that I may receive would be so very appreciated to help make my daughter’s Christmas a happy one.”
