LYNN — Police are trying to identify a man who they say assaulted a woman in the Franklin Street area in October.
The victim was walking on Franklin Street on the morning of Oct. 19 when she crossed paths with a man who called her an offensive name. Shortly after, the woman noticed the man was walking behind her — when she got close to her home, she was hit from behind, struck in the back of the head and knocked to the ground, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
Kmiec said the suspect pointed a handgun at the woman and walked away when the woman was screaming for help. A nearby resident came out to assist her.
