LYNN — Police arrested and charged an 18-year-old who they believe stabbed a teen on a Lynn English High School basketball court Tuesday night.
Johel Ramirez-Chavez, of Lynn, was arrested and charged with armed assault to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on Thursday.
Police responded to the back of Lynn English around 8 p.m. Tuesday evening where they found the victim, a 16-year-old boy, who had been stabbed in the stomach. He was taken to Mass General Hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.
Ramirez-Chavez was arraigned in Lynn District Court on Friday.
