She spends her days in the classroom and her evenings cleaning houses to make enough money to put food on the table and keep the heat on for her two young children.
A 29-year-old single mom is doing her best to provide for her one-year-old son and three-year-old daughter, but it seems like she can never get ahead. She works hard but her schedule isn’t steady, so it’s hard to save.
She knows she won’t be able to continue scraping by for much longer, so she’s pursuing an education and a better paying job, to show them that with hard work comes success. But for now, she’s worried her babies will wake up on Christmas morning, and not experience the joy of knowing Santa Claus has been by.
“I know it’s not about gifts,” she said in a letter to Item Santa. “But it would be nice for them to be able to open a present on Christmas day.”
She’s not requesting anything expensive or flashy. She’s hoping this year, Santa can bring her kids shoes in sizes 5 and 11. Her children wear clothing sizes 12 and 4T.
“Thank you Item Santa and God Bless,” she said.
