LYNN — A motorist was taken to Union Hospital after a two-car crash on the Lynnway.

Lynn firefighters used the Jaws of Life to pull the man from his 2016 Ford Escape on Friday morning, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

The driver, a 40-year old Salem man, and a passenger, suffered minor injuries, police said.

District Fire Chief Steve Archer said the car was turning out of Carolyn Road onto the Lynnway when it was hit by a 2016 Subaru Forester operated by an 18-year old who reported no injuries.

The driver was cited for operating a motor vehicle after suspension.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Police did not release the names of the victims.
