Boys hockey: Swampscott speads scoring around in win over Everett

Eleven Swampscott players recorded a point as the Big Blue boys hockey team rolled over Everett, 12-3, at Rockett Arena on the campus of Salem State University on Saturday afternoon.

Steve Santanello led the way with two goals and two assists, while Conor Donovan had two goals and one assist in the win. Drew Olivieri had one goal and three assists, Brett Benoit had one goal and two assists and Tim Farley, Thomas O’Keefe and Matt Griffin had one goal and one assist each. Dom Codispoti and Chris Barnes each scored one goal, while Griffin Bruhm and Jake Sweeney each had one assist.

Swampscott (4-3-3) has a quick turnaround with a matinee road game this afternoon against Hamilton-Wenham at Johnson Rink on the campus of Pingree School.

Lynn 7, Revere 2

John DiFilippo had a hat trick and added an assist to help lead the Jets to a big win on Saturday. Mike Clougherty had one goal and four assists, while his brother Brian Clougherty had one goal and three assists. Matt Devin scored his first career varsity goal, Aidan Seitz had one goal and Sean Devin added two assists in the win.

Lynn (5-3-1) will travel to Veterans Memorial Rink in Somerville on Wednesday for a game against the Highlanders.

Revere (6-4-1) will host Everett at Cronin Rink on Wednesday.

Winthrop 3, Beverly 1

The Vikings got two goals from captain Henry Brooks to grab a conference win over Beverly on Saturday. Brian Chalmers added the third goal for Winthrop, while goalie Ryan Skoczylas had an impressive performance in net.

Winthrop (5-3-1) will host Scituate at Larsen Arena this afternoon.

The lone goal for Beverly came from Conor Hanlon on assists from Tim McCarthy and Paul Edson. Goalie Troy Doyle had 28 saves in the loss.

The Panthers (7-3-1) will host Masconomet at Bourque Arena this afternoon.

Marblehead 8, Peabody 0

Sophomore Loch Sheridan and freshman Will Shull each recorded their first career hat tricks as the Magicians blanked Peabody for their first win of the season. Senior Stephen Pappas scored the other two goals, while junior Jacob Garfield had three assists in the win. Sophomore goalie Peter Santeusanio notched his first career shutout in the net.

Marblehead (1-6-3) hosts Medford on Wednesday at Rockett Arena in Salem.

The Tanners (0-8-0) will play a road game against Danvers on Wednesday at Bourque Arena.

Fenwick 6, St. Peter-Marian 2

As has been the case many times this season, Kasey O’Brien led the Crusaders in points as Fenwick grabbed its second win of the year on Saturday. O’Brien had one goal and two assists, while Ian Worthley, Derek DelVecchio, Nick Durbano and Ethan Belt each had one goal and one assist. Tyler Layton had one goal and Jake Murphy, Domenic Paolo, Nick Muzi, Paul Papageorgiou and John Bernbaum each had one assist.

Fenwick (2-6-3) will face a tough test in Catholic Central League powerhouse Austin Prep this afternoon at Stoneham Arena.

Archbishop Williams 3, St. Mary’s 1

Davis Kinne scored the lone goal for the Spartans as they lost for the first time all year in Catholic Central League play. St. Mary’s (5-2-3) will host Hingham today at Connery Rink.

BC High 3, Malden Catholic 0

The Lancers (1-4-2) will play a road game against Wilmington today at O’Brien Arena in Woburn.
