LYNN — A 21-year-old Revere man was arrested on firearms charges after police say they found him sleeping with a gun in his pants pocket early Monday morning.
Thabo Motlalekgosi was charged with carrying a loaded firearm weapon, possession of a firearm without a firearm identification card and on a warrant.
Police were called to an apartment at 236 South Common St. shortly after 4:30 a.m. after two male occupants reported seeing a man with a gun, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
Motlalekgosi had been visiting the apartment, but the two occupants, a resident and his friend, had become alarmed after the suspect had displayed a firearm, Kmiec said.
Police spoke with the apartment’s two other occupants outside — officers were allowed into the residence and found Motlalekgosi sleeping inside the apartment. Police woke him up and found an unlicensed gun in his pants pocket during a pat and frisk, Kmiec said.
Motlalekgosi was subsequently arrested.
