The students are from the Carpentry, Plumbing, Welding and Metal Fabrication and Auto Tech shops. This program is sponsored by the Dept. of Transportation and UMass Amherst Building and Construction Technology. The training included a field trip out to the New England Laborers’ Apprenticeship Training Campus in Hopkinton.

The students will receive credit toward apprenticeship programs with the Laborers Union, Welders Union, Carpenters Union, Plumbers Union, and the Teamsters Union.
