With a 68-55 win over Winthrop on Tuesday night, the Peabody boys basketball team earned its tenth win of the season and qualified for the state tournament. The win, which came on the Tanners’ Senior Night, improves Peabody to 10-6.

“I’m really excited for the guys, they’ve all worked so hard all season to get to this point,” Peabody coach Thad Broughton said. “Hopefully we can keep winning and get some momentum going into the tournament.”

The seniors led the way for Peabody on Senior Night, with Jake Irvine netting 20 points, Jake Gustin putting up 15 points and six rebounds, Avian Hernandez filling up his stat line with 14 points, 10 rebounds and five assists and Marcus Barker recording 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.

The Tanners play on the road at Beverly on Friday (7).

English 68, Salem 51

A handful of Bulldogs contributed to nail down the win. Alonzo Linton led English with 16 points and Javaris Hill scored 15 points. Ademide Badmus and Mason Jean-Baptiste each scored 14.

English (14-1) hosts Everett Friday.

For Salem, Galvin Gonzalez scored 14 points and Nate Lebron added 10 points. The Witches (8-8) visit Somerville Friday.

KIPP 56, Salem Academy 45

Behind 16 points from Dominic Jette, the Panthers earned a double-digit victory to improve to 12-1. J’Jdon Vincent added eight points. KIPP will play Pioneer Charter School 2 on Thursday.

Ali Kachmer had 23 points and eight rebounds for the Navigators, while Michael Santana had eight points and six rebounds. Salem Academy (10-6) will take on Excel Academy on Friday.

Archbishop Williams 57, Bishop Fenwick 53

The Crusaders came close, but simply couldn’t get over the hump against a strong Williams team on the road. Nic Pignone had 16 points to lead the way for Fenwick, while Jack Bowers had 13.

Fenwick (3-11) has another tough Catholic Central League game on Thursday when it travels to Brockton to face Cardinal Spellman.

Everett 74, Marblehead 44

Despite Derek Marino leading all scorers with 26 points, the Magicians didn’t have enough firepower to get past Everett. Dewey Millett added five points and eight rebounds in the loss.

Marblehead (10-6) host Classical on Friday.

Lynn Classical 78, Danvers 35

Edwin Solis nearly had himself a triple-double for the Rams, filling up the stat sheet with 15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Jonathan Nicosia made solid contributions off the bench with 11 points.

Classical (11-4) will play on the road at Marblehead on Friday.

Somerville 79, Swampscott 57

Swampscott’s Andrew Augustine scored 23 points and Max Pegnato added 10. The Big Blue (3-9) visit Saugus Friday night (7).

“I think we took a step in the right direction,” Swampscott coach Justin Fucile said. “We were competitive all four quarters. Our weakness is rebounding. We’ll have to prepare for Saugus because they rebound well. We’re looking to get a win.”

Malden 79, Saugus 38

The Sachems got nine points from Vinny Cirame, while Jake Morgante had eight points and 10 rebounds.

Saugus (3-13) hosts Swampscott on Friday.
