MEDFORD — The search for a new Medford superintendent of schools picks up steam this week with three forums planned and overseen by the Medford School Committee’s Superintendent Search Committee.
The first two meetings are planned for Tuesday, according to Medford Mayor Stephanie M. Burke. From noon to 2 p.m. there will be a meeting for school administrators in the Center for Citizenship and Social Responsibility’s Bloomberg Room in the Medford High School Library. From 2:30-4:30 p.m. there will be session for teachers and staff.
Medford residents may participate in one of two sessions planned for Thursday, Feb. 16 in the City Council Chamber at Medford City Hall. The two public meetings are scheduled for 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
Burke and the other members of the search committee will be in attendance along with Glenn Koocher, executive director of the Mass. Association of School Committees (MASC), who is serving as an advisor in this process.
The key purpose of these meetings,s to provide an opportunity to all to indicate what they would like to see from the next superintendent, Burke said.
The meetings will be set up as open forums where individuals can present oral testimony or provide written statements to MASC. In addition, all are welcome to complete the Superintendent Survey, which is available and able to be completed online at www.medfordma.org.
