LOWELL — A 34-year-old Peabody man was shot to death Thursday afternoon in an apparent road rage incident.

Graciela Paulino, 20, of Lowell, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Marc Devoe.

The preliminary investigation suggests that Devoe and another man were driving near the Gallagher Transportation Terminal in Lowell when there was an altercation between them and Paulino, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s office.

Paulino followed Devoe and his passenger and then shot Devoe once in the chest, according to the DA’s office. Devoe drove a short distance before crashing his blue Hyundai Accent into a cement barrier on YMCA Drive shortly after 12:30 p.m.

Devoe was taken to Lowell General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

It is believed that the shooting was a random incident, according to the DA’s office.
