LYNN — Mayor Thomas M. McGee had added two more staffers to his office.

Elizabeth Rosario Gervacio, 38, who finished just out of the running for a School Committee seat last fall, will serve as communications and outreach coordinator at a salary of $60,000.

McGee said she will be the office’s primary contact for reporters, serve as liaison to the city boards, commissions and the federal government, coordinate Student Government Day, and plan community and business meetings.

Gervacio, who is fluent in Spanish, recently worked for U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) as an immigration specialist. She was previously employed at Lynn Pathways, whose mission is to assist low-skilled workers get schooling and jobs, at the North Shore Justice Center, which provides free legal services to low-income and elderly residents, and in former U.S. Rep. John Tierney’s (D-Mass) office as an immigration caseworker.

Michael Cole, 24, McGee’s former campaign manager, has joined the mayor’s staff as community relations coordinator. He will serve as a liaison to residents, community organizations, and work on state matters. His salary is $45,000.

He is a graduate of Holy Cross where he studied political science and Spanish. Cole previously worked as community relations manager at the United Way of Central Massachusetts.

Last month, McGee’s first hires included Meaghen Hamill as chief of staff and Robin Ennis, deputy chief.
