LYNNFIELD — It was a tense few hours for residents living near Moulton Drive and Locksley Road Thursday evening.
Lynnfield police officers responded to a Moulton Drive residence shortly after 5:30 p.m. to investigate a report of a distraught and possibly armed man, according to police Chief David Breen.
The chief said that the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT team was activated and called in and activated.
“The resident was tactically isolated without incident and transported to a local hospital for evaluation,” said Breen. No charges were filed and no further information was available Friday morning.
While the incident ended peacefully, for several hours, law enforcement vehicles and personnel descended on the neighborhood, with more law enforcement staged in the parking at Post Office Square.
