LYNN — A 5-year-old girl is expected to survive after falling from a second-floor window of a Houghton Street building late Monday afternoon.
Lynn Police, Lynn Fire and ambulance crews responded to 24 Houghton St. at approximately 4:30 p.m.
After the fall, the girl was conscious and crying, but had an apparent head injury and was taken to Boston Children’s Hospital as a precaution. Her injuries are not considered to be life-threatening, Lynn Police Lt. Dave Brown said.
Brown said a passerby saw the child on the ground crying and bleeding. The Good Samaritan got out of his car, picked up the girl and immediately brought her inside to an adult who was home.
The Lynn Police Criminal Investigation Division responded and are investigating the circumstances of the incident, but initial reports indicate it may have been accidental, Brown said.
